Vicor: New 28 V Wide Input Mini range of DC-DC Converters

maxi mini microVicor Corporation announce the addition of a new 28 V Wide Input Mini range of DC-DC Converters to complete the family of Wide range input products.

ACAL are pleased to be supporting this new release with limited availability of samples for qualifying projects.

With a wide input range of 9 to 36 V, the modules are appropriate for MIL-COTS and industrial applications operating from 12V or 24 V inputs, which are typical for battery systems in vehicles.

Fully encapsulated, Vicor Mini modules utilize a proprietary spin-fill process to assure complete, void-free encapsulation making them suitable for the harshest environments.

The wide range input versions are pin compatible with the existing 24V input product.

The new 28 Vdc Mini Series models offer 8 different output voltages ranging from 3.3 V to 48 V with a maximum power of 150 W, and four operating temperature grades, including –55ºC. Baseplate optionsinclude slotted, threaded, and through-hole.

The 28V mini series offers power outputs of 75W for logic voltages ( 3.3V and 5V ) through to 150W of output power for output voltages in the range of 12v through to 48V.

“The 9-36V input range allows designers to specify one converter to operate in both 12V and 24V vehicle systems, making this product particularly cost effective for the end-user”, said Kai Johnstad, Sr. Product Marketing Manager at Vicor.  

Lead times can be as short as three weeks for prototype quantities.
