Air-Over Conduction Cooled ATR Enclosure
The 717 Series is available in standard ARINC sizes that include 1/2 ATR Short to 1-1/2 ATR Long and any custom form factor desired. The 717 Series will accept all bus structures and platforms from the stability and solid performance of the VME, VME64x, VXS, VPX and CPCI architectures, providing an expansive product offering of bus standards to application specific custom designs.
The 717 Series is a member of the Conduction Cooled line of ATR’s that Carlo Gavazzi has to offer. Designed to direct air over the thermal conducting walls, the cooling can be configured to meet the application requirements by either drawing air through the walls and out a rear exhaust plenum or forced down the walls and directed away from the equipment. When configured for unpressurized environments, the 717 Series can be configured with a high altitude cooling scheme to permit ultimate performance at altitudes up to 50,000 feet. When used in conjunction with Carlo Gavazzi’s "System Performance Monitoring" technology, the 717 Series ATR can be configured to activate internal heaters in cold start-ups or performance control the outputs of the optional external cooling fan to maintain optimal thermal environments for the circuit card assemblies.
The 717 Series can be configured with an optional avionics trays for isolation from shock and vibration environments common to airborne, vehtronics and shipboard applications.

716 Conduction Cooled ATR Enclosure
The 716 Series is available in standard ARINC sizes that include 1/2 ATR Short to 1-1/2 ATR Long and any custom form factor required. The 716 Series will accept all bus structures and platforms from the stability and solid performance of the VME, VME64x, VXS and CPCI architectures, both in 3u and 6u form factors.
The 716 Series is one of several offerings in the ATR product family. Designed as a straight conduction cooled chassis the 716 Series can be configured as an Air-Over Conduction similar to the 717 Series. However, the 716 Series offers a lighter weight option to the dip-brazed 717 Series. Designed as a light weight alternative, the 716 Series is geared to meeting the stringent weight requirements for airborne applications, but also maintain the flexibility in configuration. Constructed as a frame the conducting walls can be machined in a variety of patterns from vertical and horizontal finned to an array of geometric patterns that optimize the surface area for maximum heat transfer. These side panels can also be machined to accept a folded fin core used in an air-over conduction arrangement, when configured with an external fan will maximize the thermal transfer.
The 716 Series can be configured with an optional avionics tray for isolation from shock and vibration environments common to airborne, vehtronics and shipboard applications.
